Terms of Use

By downloading or using BibleNotes, you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you create a study group account, you also agree to the community rules below.

1. The app

BibleNotes lets you read the ESV, mark the text and keep notes. Personal study features are free. Study groups are available with BibleNotes Connect, an auto-renewing subscription.

2. BibleNotes Connect

• Study groups need an active BibleNotes Connect subscription for each member.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel BibleNotes Connect in your Apple Account settings in the App Store.
• Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

3. Community rules

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. In study groups you agree not to post content that is:

• hateful, harassing, threatening or bullying;
• sexually explicit, violent or otherwise objectionable;
• illegal, or infringes someone else's rights;
• spam or advertising.

You can report content and block users in the app. We review reports within 24 hours and may remove content and disable the accounts of users who break these rules.

4. Your content

You own the notes and comments you write. By posting to a group, you allow BibleNotes to store that content and show it to the members of that group. You're responsible for what you post.

5. Scripture text

The ESV text is © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers, and is used by permission. All rights reserved. You may not copy the ESV text out of the app except as allowed by Crossway.

6. Ending your account

You can delete your study group account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

7. Disclaimer

BibleNotes is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use BibleNotes means you accept the updated terms.
